Nic & Marsh's Personal Pitch for Early Enrollment
Our community supported fishery is a seasonal model which sets us apart from most other online seafood providers. Alaska winters all but stop our small-boat fisheries, so every year our fishermen and our company take the opportunity the offseason gives us to prepare for the year ahead.
In this planning stage, we launch our next season during what we call “early enrollment.” Activating your membership during early enrollment gives our fishermen much needed capital to do offseason boat projects and provides security for their anticipated 2021 fishing season. For our company, your early enrollment helps us plan our harvest and bring new small-boat fishermen into our company as we grow. Supporting the livelihoods of traditional small boat fishermen is central to our mission. It also takes a lot of planning. And, of course, you benefit during early enrollment by receiving our lowest prices of the year.
But don’t just take our word for it—hear it from our co-founders Nic Mink and Marsh Skeele. We recently caught up with them (outside and in a socially distant way) on a blustery fall day in Sitka to get their personal take on why we have early enrollment.
